My oil painting of “Nathaniel” on a postcard, was created in response to the BBC Little painting Challenge competition in 2015, which I won in my category. My wife was breastfeeding my 3 month son and I took a picture for my inspiration. This wonderful bond and connection between mother and son made a lovely composition and painting. Since then I have continued to paint baby portraits as commissions.
All my work is digitally put together using reference photographs in Photoshop. I spend a long time building these images up until they are ready to be committed to canvas. I then draw them out on canvas and paint them relatively quickly, over a few days.
I sold my first cat painting in 2010 at a National Lottery funded exhibition in Richmond, Yorkshire. I sell my paintings regularly, either privately or through local/independent galleries.
Please feel free to ask or contact me if you are interested in having a commission.
