Aleksandra Karpowicz is a London-based visual artist whose work focuses exclusively on the human form and behaviour. She initially started working within the medium of photography and is now also exploring interactive installations and performances to discuss the topics of sexuality and body image through the perspective of the female gaze.
Her approach to portraiture aims to reassert the beauty in human nudity and sexuality as an aesthetic and artistic subject by confronting contemporary issues surrounding the body. Her National Open Art Competition double prize-winning work, ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’, posits an artistic exploration of theories from Human Sexuality studies that seeks to fracture the taboos surrounding human sexuality.
